A research report was published entitled Attitudes of the residents of the Visegrád Group countries towards Ukrainian war refugees. We invite you to read.

This report presents the results of survey research on attitudes towards Ukrainian war refugees in the Visegrád Group countries. The study was conducted using the Computer-Assisted Web Interview (CAWI) method. The research sample included 728 respondents in Poland, 743 in the Czech Republic, 742 in Slovakia, and 749 in Hungary. The results indicate that the war in Ukraine has impacted the respondents’ quality of life. Respondents reported a decline in their socioeconomic status. Additionally, some of the respondents in all surveyed countries experienced mental health issues. The primary concerns of most respondents were the potential spread of the war into their own countries and rising prices. Respondents in all surveyed countries expressed trust in military structures. Attitudes towards Ukrainian war refugees were predominantly negative. A majority of respondents negatively evaluated their impact on the functioning of their countries and supported limiting assistance to individuals who fled the areas of active armed conflict or occupation. Respondents most often supported providing humanitarian aid to Ukraine, while being less favourable towards providing military and financial assistance or Ukraine’s expedited accession to the European Union. The majority of the respondents opposed accepting refugees from Africa and Asia.
